Shoulder pain
Shoulder injuries are known for being stubborn and recurrent by nature. An accurate assessment and good rehabilitation programme will help get the most out of your shoulder and reduce the chances of it affecting your ability to function and perform. Traumatic shoulder injuries such as shoulder dislocations and labral tears are most likely to occur in contact sports such as Rugby and American football. Repetitive injuries such as rotator cuff disease or tendinopathy are much more likely to occur in sport with high training loads such as Swimming, Badminton, Golf and Tennis. An early assessment of any niggly injuries is important in getting on top of pathologies before they become more troublesome. Physiotherapy is likely to consist of manual therapy, rehabilitation exercise such as strengthening and stretching as well as modifying your activities.
