GOLF CLASS

Our golf class is a hotch potch of exercises picked up from my experience in the golf industry. My main influences have been Mark Comerford's Golf Performance Matrix, The Titleist Performance Institute, Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute, The UK Strength & Conditioning Association and mostly working with the institute of sport physiotherapist (Maggie Hendry) who supports the Scottish mens golf team.

Nearly all golfers I have screened have less than desirable function in their hips and spine. The golf class is designed to improve your flexibility and strength, in particular into rotation, in a golf specific manner. The class is for all levels of fitness and incorporates challenging skills such as sequencing your hips, trunk and hands in the correct order to get the most out of your swing.

The class has been running for 3 months and already we have had clients reporting swing and handicap improvements. There are so many variables with reports of handicap improvements however I am confident swing and club head speed improvevments are a result of physical conditioning. If you have any queries or would like to sign up to our class your can email myself at greensidephysio@outlook.com.

PILATES CLASS

All our classes our led by Charetered Physiotherapists trained by The Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute.

Pilates is a popular body conditioning workout that operates in a different way to many other gym classes. Pilates works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into the correct alignment. Pilates helps to reshape your body, which will become leaner and more toned as a result of undertaking this class. It will also improve your posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and flexibility. Our members often find that Pilates helps them relieve unwanted stress and tension. It's slow, controlled approach means that it gives much longer-term results and it is especially recommended by medical specialists for those with back problems.

Pilates classes are all about:

  • Muscle recruitment patterns

  • Correcting common muscle imbalances

  • Restoring alignment and natural movement.

The benefits of Pilates include:

  • Obtaining greater strength and muscle tone

  • More efficient respiratory, lymphatic and circulatory systems

  • Better posture & core strength

  • A flatter stomach and trimmer waist line

  • Improved mobility & flexibility

  • Less incidence of back pain

  • Lower stress levels.
